The young ladies share numerous characters with other insects, dragon-flies, which they merge in general under the same name (for more general information on dragon-flies. But they differentiate easily the young ladies of dragon-flies by their more fragile appearance
less impressive.They are also smaller, and less robust, as well as less good pilots, the young ladies always stay by the waterside, and do not fly off out of our fields of vision as dragon-flies make it.We differentiate the dragon-flies of the young ladies by the compared size of their two pairs of wings: the true dragon-flies have the previous wings of pair a little less big than those of later pair, while, at the young ladies, they cannot differentiate them one of other one. |
