Nice shot with good detail, clearly though the sun was working against you. Not sure if you have tried this, but if your camera has an Exposure Value (EV) setting, turn it down a couple of stops, try starting at -0.7 or -1. This will underexposed the shot and compensate for the sun giving you more detail. This can also be worked in post processing by decreasing input levels and increasing highlights.

Hi Claude, excellent photo. You covered the technicalities well and the eye with the light in it is good. It is always good to remember that an eye should always reflect that light, to make a good photo. Well done.
