Bonjour Robi,
Superb in-flight of M. stellatarum feeding on buddleia. Excellent POV and sharpness against a neutral BG and a pleasing composition.
TFS this beauty,
Amicalement et bon weekend,
Ivan

Hello Robi,
I like this distance towards the subject. Often we see close up photos, almost macro images with a shallow depth of field.
I have nothing against the former. But this doesn't look like a lens test especially in terms of the way the colourful moth is photographed.
A nit is the somewhat out of focus flower and as a consequence the increasing the blown highlights.
Greenish OOF BG is well done.
TFS

Hello Robi,
the hawkmoth you show on your picture is a species of the genus Hemaris,
most probably Hemaris fuciformis.
Very good focus on the flying insect.
Best wishes, Peter

salut Robi,

Anne

Hi Robi,
great in-flight capture, well composed, crisp and clear, with a perfectly supporting background. And indeed you have captured something much less common than the vagrant Macroglossum stellatarum: Our native Hemaris fuciformis (Hummelschwärmer) as Peter (batu) already stated.
Thank you! With best regards,
Peter

Hi Robi. I saw one in our garden one hot summer a few years ago but have never seen one since . maybe one day again. . You have captured this one with good detail and natural colours. I like the different coloured stripes in the body. well done TFS.

I know how tricky it is to capture this Moth because it never sits still and keeps on moving from point to point in a tearing hurry.
That way, you have managed a fairly clear shot of this difficult subject with fairly good details and colours on it.

Hi Robi.
I like this full of lights and summer colours in-flight close-up. Great timing, wonderful lights, crisp sharpness of the plant and fine insect. I also like excellent framing and composition of the shot. Bravo and TFS.
Alexei.
