[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [French]
Photo taken in the zoo (during its cleaning) .The red ibis (Eudocimus ruber) is a gregarious bird whose colonies can reach(affect) several thousand individuals. This colour is due to the present of carotene in its food, essentially small shell fishes (shrimps and crabs of mangrove swamp). We find red ibises of the south east of the United States in Brazil by way of the Pacific Coast of the Central America and Greater Antilles.Being the object of an intense poaching for his red feathers, it has a status of sort protected for a long time in certain countries. It is Trinidad's national emblem and Tobago.
