Interesante composición de la mariposa con las plantas que la rodeaban. Bien enfocada. Quizá mejoraría rebajando algún tono rojo y eliminando algo de ruido. Por lo demás , un bonito documento.

Hello Jacquiline,

Beautiful macro shot of the adorable butterfly in upside-down position! The sharpness and POV are great, and the natural colors are beautifully shown. The textures on the wings of the butterfly are very well defined and stand out well against the light colored blurred BG. The light pinkish flower adds another piece of beauty to the picture. I like the central positioning of the subject in the frame. Very pleasing shot overall! Well done!

Hallo Jaqueline,
eine klasse Aufnahme von diesem schönen Tagfalter. Die mit dem Kopf nach unten abgelichtete Pose von dem Ochsenauge gefällt mir ausgesprochen gut und die Schärfe ist ausgezeichnet, so dass viele Details der Flügelunterseiten sehr gut zu erkennen sind. Gute Arbeit.

We just got back from Jasper National Park. We were away for a few days rest.
It was a true delight to see this lovely "Gatekeeper" presented with such great taste.
I took note of your words:"...The Gatekeeper, like many Satyrinae, exhibit sexual dimorphism. The male has a dark patch on the upper side of the forewing. This is an area of scent-producing scales known as the androconia."
All species, including us humans, share this characteristic.... MOST INTERESTING!!!
At Jasper we noted this in the many, many wild animals we saw. The Male is more colourful or more attractive etc., etc.,

C'est toujours un grand plaisir de regarder vos photographies de papillons, dont vous semblez être une spécialiste. Votre présentation de Gatekeeper n'y déroge pas. Belle mise en oeuvre du papillon posé sur sa fleur. Les couleurs sont belles et la netteté d'une grande qualité.
