Great capture of the European Kingfisher: good sharpness at a distance of 8 meters and no noise. Fine composition and BG. The light has made the blue unusually dark, which I think is natural and not due to your photographic technique.

This is a very nice picture of this impressive little bird - the king fisher. I know we have this species in my country, too, but i wasn't so lucky as you to manage a shot yet.
I really like the pose in which you've captured it here as well as the fine composition you have created.
The colors and exopsure are very beautiful while the DOF is spot-on.

Yo creo que valió la pena la relativa corta espera para "cazar" a esta maravilla. Destacaría una excelente pose , una buena luz y unos colores de las plumas azules muy bellos y delicados. La cabeza creo que necesitaría un poco más de luz, pero: ojalá tuviera un martín pescador yo en mi galería. Buen aprovechamiento del material empleado (sigma 70-300) que por cierto yo también lo tengo.

voilà un grand changement!!!les insectes vont disparaitrent et les oiseaux vont revenir doucement.
bravo pour cette image du martin pécheur, mais quelle patience!!!!
les couleurs sont tres jolies, même si cela manque d'un poil de netteté, c'est super malgré tout
bon cadrage.

Intéressant de lire comment tu prépares tes images et de voir le résultat. C'est presqu'une peinture par l'effet obtenu grâce à une lumière diffuse. Le résultat se laisse tout à fait voir.

Bonjour Laurent,
C'est une superbe oiseau et une belle capture dans une excellente composition. J'en ai vu cet été et ils ne sont vraiment pas faciles à photographier. J'aime bien cette pose et la lumière dans son oeil. Je m'interroge quant aux détails étant donné tes spécifications, j'aurais eu tendance à penser qu'il aurait pu être un peu plus détaillé mais je ne sais pas pourquoi honnêtement j'ai cette impression. Bien vu! Merci!
