ERINACEUS EUROPAEUS (hedgehog, hérisson)
These chaps must have something really pleasant, because you find they have a good place in children's imagery, cartoons and cuddly toys (there's a famous german one, but I don't remember the name). In fact, they can become very tame, and although they really live at night time, if you have one in your garden you might also see it during the day, as here.
In winter, they will be very quiet, sleeping for hours and days under leaf heaps you just have to leave in a corner of your garden. It will not show up in daytime before spring. If it disappears one day (like this one did at the end of the summer), it might go far, as they run quite fast, if you consider their short legs.

Well composed with good sharpness and detail Jean. I like the low POV and he has turned toward you, with some eye contact. Great note & link. Thank You!

Hi Jean,
what a big guy looking so nice with his lovely face. You had great luck to capture him with this wonderful warm light. Your POV is excellent in this low position. Thanks, I like it very much, bye

Jean-Michel, this is colorful and very nice.

I like pov, composition and contrast between the main subject and the vivid bg.

Sharpness is also great.

It is so wonderful to see this hedgehog! I miss them so much in Sweden, where they are very rare, nowadays. They get killed on the roads and they also have difficulties in finding a place to sleep during the winter. People burn leafs and branches in their gardens and that makes it difficult for them to survive the winter.
Your picture is very good! And the little creature so cute!

I have seen one when Paul was here a week ago. First time in years. The are lovely critters. Well done, Jean Michel.

Valerie.
