This is a large, crepuscular, semiaquatic rodent native to South America, but now also present in Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America. In most regions the coypu is considered a pest. In eastern Europe and Central Asia, however, it is still valued for its fur. The coypu, a herbivore, has been introduced from South America to every continent except Australia and Antarctica. The animal is adapted to subtropical to mild temperate climates.
Efforts (hunting, trapping, poisoning)to stop the development of Coypu's in France were vain. Interesting to note: in south America, its native place, he's not doing so well as he has many predators there, including pumas, jaguars, anacondas and caymans.

They become numerous as the sun set. I had to set the camera on 400ISO to get decent shots.
One of them (not the one from the pic) was so used to city life that he came to me to beg for bread.

Hi JeanMario.
Your shot is wonderful. It is composed excellently. Captured scene is amazing. Colours are well saturated and pleasant. Reproduction of the animal image is great: sharp, detailed and lightened very well. Pose of the nutria, its mood are reflected so well too. I like how you have reproduces the colours and transparency of the water. Skillfully done expressive picture. My compliments and best wishes.

An excellent shot on this Nutria. I think they have become quite a pest in some parts of the world. A spot on exposure here. The colors and detail in the fur look superb. Well done!

This is a very nice photo of something we don't see everyday her on TN...so thanks for sharing! :)
The details in the shot and especialyl on the fur of this cute fellow are really great and sharp and th contrast with the blue-ish reflection on the water is excellent.
The pose is also terrific, the POV and DOF and good and the composition is very nice, too.
