[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I chose this picture because it shows the herring gull both as an adult and as a juvenile in its first winter.
The specise has 4 age groups (3 juveniles and 1 adult) since it takes the young 3 winters to reach adult plumage.
Note the pink legs at all ages!
It is a very common bird feeding on fields, rubbish dumps, etc.

This is a very pedagogic photo to show the difference between the young and grown gulls. Great!

Maybe I would have cropped it a bit closer to exclude the flying one... but I am not sure.
