This golden skipper is often found basking on vegetation, or making short buzzing flights among tall grass stems.
The male is distinguished from the female by the sex brand on its forewings, which is a slightly curved line of specialised scent scales. This butterfly is widespread in southern Britain, living in discrete colonies of both small and large populations. The adults are on the wing in late June, through July, and into August.

Nice sharp image of the cure butterfly. I may not help you with the Id as I hardly know about the names of the insect. But can surely tell you that you have captured it with a nice PoV and and with great focus. Very nice sharp and bright image.

Salut Brigitte,je pense qu'il soit un small skipper.Vraiment une tres belle capture avec les couleurs magnifiques et une nettete' au top.Interessante la position de la lumiere qui donne une charme particuliere a ta capture.Mes compliments et bonne journee',LUCIANO

Ces petits papillons sont très communs en été, mais ils ne sont pas toujours facile à photographier - bravo pour cette belle image ! Les détails sont impressionnants, les couleurs sont très agréables, la composition est magnifique. J'aime bien aussi le contraste entre la fleur violette et le papillon orange. Félicitations !

Hi Brigitte. This looks so much betetr with out the large frame. But remember thats only my likes. I must say this is a first class picture of the Skipper on the colourful flower head. You have taken both with good detail and rich colours. I like the top POV . well done TFS.
