Hello Joe,
A superb sharp capture of a male Cleopatra, the orange part of the forewing showing nicely through. The use of flash has made a fine contrasting dark BG without causing the 'night-time' effect and the image is well composed.

It is hard to not like such shot! To be honest, this is one of best shots of this butterfly I've ever seen. Everything is perfect - POV, exposure, details. Light and colours are stunning - was it taken during sunset?

Hello Joey, Just simply awesome. The color of the eye and the antenna is amazing. From the body it looks like a horseman standing onthe top of the flower. Excellent position and I am just wondering your position of the camera while taking this shot. Excellent colors and lighting. Wonderful shot. Ganesh

I love it Joey...and your short summer home sounds fantastic! what opportunities you have by living just under or over eh water to Europe. It is probably something which most Europeans take for granted..I really do feel as though I live in the "New World" as the forefathers called it...so far a way...a beautiful image for a wonderful summers day..Great Joey!

Great shot - saw this species for the first time myself this year in Crete. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get a shot as they were very flighty. Excellent colours and use of flash. Spot on focus.

phantastic picture of Cleopatra which is a male in this case. You show a clear and sharp picture
of the butterfly. Both flower and cleopatra contrast nicely against the background.

You have captured a great image of this butterfly. I like the way you have used the soft light rendering exceleny color tones. Textur of the wings is well shown. Nice contrast between insect;s colors and flower. Background matches well the main subject.

Hi Joe,

This one went to my favourites. You are so young, yet you take such wonderful pictures. I had a look at your exif information to learn from you, because I saw that you achieved immaculate DOF here. All the legs, the whole flower, everything you wanted in focus are super sharp and in focus, yet you also have a beautifully blurred BG. Very well done.

The composition is also perfect, as well as the detail on the subject.
