Your first post is more dramatic by way of total impact. The second one is equally brilliant but only in terms of DOF, sharpness and clarity.

Amazing photo, you were at the right place at the right time. A circular polarizer may have removed some of the reflections and showed more of the octopus, although I am not sure it would have improved the shot
