In my opinion : it is Trumpet of Death or Black chanterelle. Scientific name : Craterellus Cornucopioides.

But for Felipe Mateo, it is Craterellus cinereus...

They are so similar, now I am in doubt !

---

It is hard to find because of its liking for dark and sheltered places. This mushroom has a very good flavour and is edible and very appreciate in sauce or omelette. We like very much in Savoy !

Canon Ixus 400 in mode : macro-auto-spot. No flash, no tripod.
Slightly cropped and resized for TN.

j'adore la forme primitive de cette espece, ca couleur ressort a merveil sur le fond vert, la nettete est tres bonne...
didonc il y a vraiment une grande diversité de flaune et flaure dans tes forets ;)
tres jolie shoot Christian.

Very nice picture of this delicate mushroom.
Nice colours and good sharpness.
Good note.
Well done.

Christian, I must say that it does not look like a tasty morsel. The textures are show very sharp and detailed. The OOF background adds some colour and contrasts nicely with the fungi. Superb post.

I can atest to it's wonderful flavor!!! This is my favorite wild mushroom to collect and cook. This year I was unable to find any...last year I had loads! Wonderful photo of this yummy mushroom. They are very difficult to see to begin with because they are usually camouflaged by the dead leaves. The detail in this is stunning. Wonderful work.

Christian, What can I say that hasn't been said here already! The "Mushroom Stalker" has once again succeeded in posting one of natures most versatile & in this case most "delectable" organisms, in perfect photograpic form.. Touche!!

Good one Christian the details are very good for such a dark subject, it does not look tasty but then not every thing that looks good does you good. the BG still shows enough detail to give an idea of its suroundings but is OOF enough so it does not overpower it.

I am going to have an omelette for breakfast this morning with lots of mushrooms. The sharpness in this shot is excellent and I especially like the texture on the mushroom. Thanks for posting

Fantastic shot of one of the most strange chanterelle. The enviroment is perfect, and the composition too.
Perfect detail and texture. Congratulations Christian.

I think you made an error with the name, this one is the Craterellus cinereus I think. Greetings.
