Lors d'une ballade plutôt éprouvante sur des crêtes qui surplombe mon village j'ai fait une rencontre inattendue. J'avais croisé plusieurs chamois, et j'étais justement en train de photographier un groupe de trois individus lorsque celui ci a surgit de derrière la crête. Nous étions aussi étonnés l'un que l'autre, mais pour moi la surprise fut agréable - le senitment n'était pas réciproque à mon avis. Il a sifflé, et il est reparti aussitôt.

During a rather tiring walk on the ridge that dominates my village, I had an unexpected encounter. I had already come across quite a few chamois, and I was taking pictures of a groupe of three individuals when this chap just appeared over the ridge. I think he was as surprised as I was, but for me it was a pleasant surprise, and I got the impression the feeling wasn't mutual. He hissed at me and then dissappeared over the other side of the ridge again.

You were quick enough to catch this surprising moment.
I like the eye contact and the pose on the animal, as well as the contrast with the white of the snow.
You managed to build a very effective composition with all the elements present here.

Hallo Matt
This image has a mysterious and almost sombre atmosphere to it. I think the weather has lots to do with the mood captured. It is never the less a very striking shot and you have captured it well. This is an animal unknown to me. I like the few moments of eye contact you have captured, as well as the pose of the animal moving upwards in the snow. Thanks for sharing.
