Hi Gerard,
A superb capture of this Sphinx moth.
The exposure is quite well controlled,showing some great detail in the fine hairs,with only a couple of tiny OE patches.I see you lit it with tungsten and used a Nikon D80.
What kind of macro lens did you use,if any ?
(You know you can list your cameras and lenses in your 'equipment profile' and they will show next to your photo?)
It is a great macro in any case,and one I would be proud of.

What a great first shot you have posted, with this suberb macro of the Sphinx Moth's head.
Its excellent frontal POV showing super sharp details, the black BG is a very nice contrast for the moth too.
