Nymph at Base Camp. This little fellow was on climb with attitude. The grasses were about 0.5M high and it was about 5mm. Wow!

Eurydema Ventralis Nymph (5-6 mm)

Order Heteroptera Family Pentatomidae.

Shield bugs and Stink bugs overwinter as adults and become active in spring when temperatures rise above 21 degrees Centigrade (above 70 degrees F). Each female deposits up to several hundred eggs, usually in mid- or late June. These eggs are laid in clusters (averaging 36 eggs) primarily on leaves and stems but also on pods. Nymphs hatch from these eggs and pass through five instars before becoming adults. Approximately 5 weeks elapse between hatching and adult emergence.

This macro shot was taken in bright sunlight, light winds, on a piece of long grass without a tripod (Considering the subject is only 5-6mm, thought it was very tricky!). The PP was limited to cropping to remove a little shade, resizing for TN rules and sharpening. Hope you like this little nymph.

A very nice shot, Tim!
Excellent details, lovely colors, very good POV and DOF. I also like the very good contrast between the bug and the plant he is climbing. Very well seen and captured!

Vey nice, the colours are lovely and details clear and for a hand held in windy conditions very nice. the bright white reflections could do with darkening a fraction a slight touch of burn tool set to highlights at about 9% with a very soft brush should just tone them back a fraction so as not to draw the eye too much. Una bonita composición Tim, con excelente nitidez, colorido y control de la luz.
Un fondo suave que no interfiere con el objeto principal y un atinado encuadre vertical.
Existe un ligero ruido de fondo, que podrías optimizar con Neat Image por ejemplo, pero que no desmerece la calidad de la presentación.

beautiful composition Tim, with excellent clarity, coloring and control of the light.
A soft background that doesn't interfere with the main object and a accurate vertical framing.
A slight bottom noise exists that could optimize with Neat Image for example, but that non be unworthy of the quality of the presentation.

Hi Tim,
This insect is beautiful! Shot very sharp, with lovely colors and a great compositon. Why is this bug yellow/black? I think that just it is a stunk bug not stinging bug?:-)
