I'd say that's a dragonfly. :P If you're wondering species, I think you'd need to be much closer with more detail.

Hi Henry, welcome to TN, glad you found us OK, Sorry for being so slow to answer you,been a bit busy. ptman is quiet right it is a dragonfly, I have been trying to ident it more for you. can you tell me what size and colour it was, the image is a little too B&W to give any clues, trysending me the original file of the image and I will see what I can do with it.
