Hello Everyone,,
Today, I have another caterpillar to post. It really is a beauty and was found walking along a pathway in the Loire region of France. It was on the edge of a woodland area. For such a small creature, it could certainly move at a rapid speed!
I have looked in my insect books, but of course they are butterflies/caterpillars of the U.K. and I have looked on the Internet. Some caterpillars have a similarity, like the Emperor Moth but do not seem just right.
I would be grateful if anyone could help me with the identification as I know there are some knowledgeable experts on this site.
Many thanks for your interest. Bev :-) |

Hi Bev,
I love seeing these caterpillars since I never see them here. Of course I am no help with the ID. Once again, beautiful colors and details and a lovely natural setting.

Hello Beverley,
This is a nice macro of a caterpillar that is vaguely familiar to me but I can't put a name to it!
If/when I do I'll get back to you, but this image shows enough detail and colours to be able to ID it. Life's a bit frustrating at times1
Thanks and all the best,
Ivan
