[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
For the first time in my life I saw an orchid from the genus Ophrys!

This week I was in France at a meeting with some colleagues from my work. It was a conference, so, entire day listening different presentations. But in one day we made a field trip to visit some experimental fields and in the end of the day to visit an old necropolis “Tumulus de Bougon”. It seems that is the oldest necropolis known in Europe – built 4700 years before B.C. It includes six wide tumuli, built on the basis of elaborated domes, whose shape suggests mysterious proto-pyramids.
But as usually, I was more interested in the beautiful meadow around the ancient constructions. And, for the first time in my life I saw this little orchid from the genus Ophris. I was almost jumping, but I tried to be serious in front of my ...superiors. I did not have time to search exactly the name of the species, but I will do it next days.
In fact, this picture is the last but one before the battery of the camera died. The last picture is with a nice butterfly, I will post it later.
I hope you like it!
I will ask somebody from France to localize for me exactly the site of this tumuli, I don't know if it is more closer to Poitiers or Niort.

...si felicitarile mele pentru asa o postare!
Pe langa faptul ca e un subiect de o frumusete aparte, imi place mult cum ai gandit poza aici.
Atat compositia verticala cat si lumina sunt foarte bine controlate ca sa evidentieze caracteristicile acestei specii superbe.
Adancimea e de-asemenea aproape impecabila - imi place fundalul sters si detaliile foarte clare pe floara din stanga dar din pacate ti-a scapat floarea de jos...un mic detaliu, care oricum nu strica prae mult din estetica pozei.
Eventual ce ai putea incerca pe viitor e sa culci un pic iarba din fundalul apropiat si sa folosesti un f-stop mai mare...o idee :)

Very fine this pastel picture of Ophrys flowers. I like your vertical framing and the special blurred background. It appears somehow like a painting.

Pour ma part l'identification des ophrys est toujours très difficile !!!
sans en être absolument sur il me semble que ce pourrait-être un ophrys apifera.
En tous cas c'est une très belle macro présentant bien le sujet.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.

Frumoasa captura cu niste culori excelente.

I'm happy to read that it's in France (my country ! :-) that you found this flower for the first time !!! So I suppose you appreciated it ? And, by the way, this is between Poitiers and Niort, but closer to Niort, a wonderful region, I have visited once when I was a child and I wish I could visit it again. As for the picture, well, it is excellent, there are some nice details on the flower, and I also like the soft tender colors. Lovely composition, nice POV. Very well done !
