Lake of Montcenis: a little lagoon.
The lake of Montcenis is a big artificial lake with a dam builted in the Sixties, completely with ground (rare indeed). It is settled at 2084 m. on sea level, and it separes the valley of Susa (Italy) from the valley of Laslenbourg (France). The hill of Montcenis has a route that coasts along the lake, with many points of access. Before the existence of the Mont-Blanc and Frejus tunnels, it provided the quick way to reach France from Turin. It is proved that Hannibal passed here with his elephants, in winter!! The hill is closed the most part of the year. |

Hello Violetta
A lovely landscape with beautiful contrasting colours between the intensely blue water and the green grass on the shore. Actually it would have been nice if you could have included a bit more of the mountains and maybe even a bit of sky just to balance the composition into 1/5 zones rather than just 1/3 zones on the horizontal plane. The only nit I would address is the fact that the water level on the horizon drops quite a bit to the right. This is something you can focus on next time when you take a photo of a scene where the water forms a focal point of the composition.
Greetings
AC
Hello Violetta,
Very pretty location, you got a nice reflection in the water, and nice natural colors. TFS

Nice landscape, Violetta. I like the use of forground, middle ground, and background to give this shot depth. But I agree with AC's comments. Just a bit wider here to give us a bit more room at the top and bottom (try not to cut anything off, such as the mountains here), a slight rotation to keep the horizon level, and you've got a perfect shot.
