Hi Jonathan,
Nice sharp focus on this damselfly. Yes, sometimes it is good to see the damselfly in its natural setting rather than the macro shot of it's eyes. It is all a matter of personal choice. The colors and light are nice in this one.

Bonjour Jonathan,
Image très fine pour présenter cette demoiselle. Je suis d'accord avec toi. L'environnemnt d'un insecte peut aussi beaucoup contribuer à la beauté d'une image et en plus elle il nous renseigne sur les habitudes de l'animal ou de l'insecte présentés.

c'est vrai que ce n'est pas mal non plus avec le verdure autour,mais si on publié des gros plan d'un oeil de mouche ou autres c'est pour lire dans leur pensée!!!c'est aussi un defi de les approcher au plus pres.
en tous cas bonne qualité d'image;

A very clear capture of this damselfly!
You got a very particular pose with the insect aligned in the same direction than the leave.
I like all the directions marked by the leaves and the lighting on it.

Hello Jonathan,
Yes, the Damselfly does look good in the context of its environment and it rather emphasises its small size. Excellent capture, sharp and in natural colours. I like the diagonal pose too.

Yes I agree with Ken 52 on this one. One does not always have to only see a head shot or a macro of this or any other insect. The blue of the insect and the green of the grass compliment one another very well. I love the detail of the plants hair. It adds a special touch to the photo. I once before saw a photo much the same as this one of yours. I searched for it to compare, but now see that this one has more green to it. I have no knowledge of this kind of insects and do not even know if they are the same or in any way related. Anyway I include a link to the one I am referring to. Congratulations on this one and thank you for sharing it with us. I also like the one in your portfolio with the title bonjour mademoiselle. But blue is my favourite colour and that is why I always spot the blue on the thumbnails first.

Jonathan, there seems to be some noise on the bg, but this is a very nice capture.
