Photo take always at the same place: the pond. This Libellulle (Anax
Emperor) was posed on a snap ring (still and always:)

Description:

Generally measuring 70 to 80 mm, its scale can reach 11 cm. Its thorax
is green, the abdomen of the male blue is decorated of a tape to
noirenoir, that of the female chestnut-gray with black rings. With the
difference of the majority of the other dragonflies, it is often posed
in height in the trees.

Abundance:

It is still rather common on the majority of the stagnant mediums (not
polluted by pesticides) of plain. It flies sometimes to the top of the
channels. It strongly regressed or disappeared from the zones of
intensive agriculture.

Reproduction:

The eggs are laid in vegetable remains floating or inoculated in the
stems of plants. They hatch after 3 to 6 weeks, according to the
temperature. The very carnivorous larva can eat molluscs or tadpoles
larger than it.

Reign Animalia
Embranchement Arthropoda
Under-embr. Hexapoda
Classifies Insecta
Sous-classe Pterygota
Ordre Odonata Famille
Aeshnidae
Genre Anax

Bonjour Maxime,
Excellent capture of my favourite species of dragonfly, the Emperor. It is not often one has the luck to take it while resting.
This is pretty sharp, with excellent lighting and colour and well composed in a natural environment.
Thanks for sharing,
Ivan

Hello Maxime,
Yes, it's my favourite too! We've seen one here this summer and they are so big and beautiful. Your capture is excellent and you're lucky to have found one resting. Great sharpness and fine colours.
Many thanks, Ulla
