Yes, it is sad to see these beasts captured and imprisoned for life. But maybe they do have a better life in a zoo than if they had been left in the wild or captured by others. . .
I like the expression in his eyes - very toouching.

Hi Jonathon,
what a great portrait. Detail, colour and pose are fantastic, those claws look lethal.His muzzle and the right hand side of his head looks a little OE though.
I'm not a great fan of zoos either, i don't think animals are there for our amusment. You have created quite a sad mood here.

tres joli et triste portrait!!les ours est bien le mammifere que j ai du mal a "voir" dans un zoo ou un parc.je ne peux tout simplement plus aller les voir.
ton portrait est reussi!il transperce le coeur.tres bonne nettete technique aussi.belles grosses pattes :-).

Je n'aime pas faire des photos dans des zoos mais j'en ai visités quelques uns dernièrement qui étaient moins pires. Genre de Parcs Safari ou refuges pour animaux qui n'auraient pas survécus dans la nature. J'ai pris de beaux portraits de petits copains qui semblaient somme toute passablement bien. Je n’aime pas le zoos mais j'ai vu certain membres de leur personnel qui étaient très gentils et dévoués envers leurs animaux. Ça m'a réconcilliée avec certains endroits mais c'est vrai que les zoos traditionnels me brisent le coeur.

Bien vu et réalisé!

J'ai visité le Zoo d'Amnéville il y a peu de temps, c'est en Lorraine, et j'y ai vu un ours qui avait exactement la même pose ! J'aurais juré que c'était le même ours, avant de voir que la photo n'a pas été prise dans le même zoo. c'est vrai que c'est triste de les voir ainsi... mais d'un autre côté je me dis que s'ils n'étaient pas ici, ils auraient peut-être déjà été tués par un quelconque chasseur ou braconnier....
Quoi qu'il en soit, la photo est excellente, avec de jolis détails, des couleurs naturelles, une superbecomposition et POV. Félicitations !

Une bonne composition et un cadrage serré mettent en valeur l'expression de l'ours. Image nette, détails bien visibles et couleurs naturelles.

Prise dans des conditions difficiles (plein soleil) et avec un sujet comprenant des zones claires et des zones très foncées, les zones claires du museau ont été grillées (blown highlights). Difficile à éviter à moins de sous-exposer la photo. J'ai essayé de récupérer les zones surexposées dans un WS. Le résultat n'est pas terrible.
