Bonjour Lens,
Welcome to the in-flight dragonfly-shot club!
Excellent in-flight capture of a male Aeshna cyanea. Great POV and timing to show the wing action. The BG is nicely OOF but I think the composition is a little too central: maybe less space on the left and a little more on the right if the original allowed it.

Hi Lens,

Such a difficult shot to get and you've done an excellent job. I've only managed to capture one in flight, but it's nowhere near as good at this, although I only recently remembered that I could change the ISO setting from 100! NIce detail and lovely background.

Bonjour Aleks, c'est un premier essais plutot réussi, je t'avoue que je n'y suis jamais arrivé, j'aurais juste augmenté l'ISO pour avoir une ouverture au delà de 6,3 pour avoir une plus grande DOF
Mais chapeau bas l'ami, cela mérite un joli smiley tout vert,

Ah oui..j'aime beaucoup, c'est coloré et dynamique.Le mouvement n'est pas figé et le focus n'est pas trop mal sur la tête.En fond, rien ne vient gener la lecture de l'image et le trois-quart face est interessant comme prise de vue.
Honnêtement, pour une photo faite à main levée, c'est super.Après bien sûr, le pied ne peut que donner plus de stabilité mais je suis comme toi, j'ai tendance à ne pas m'en servir, me sentant vite encombrée..
Non vraiment, c'est une très chouette photo!

Bonjour lens !
C'est génial d'avoir réussi à capturer cette libellule en plein vol, moi je n'y suis encore jamais parvenue. Jolis détails, belles couleurs, excellente composition et POV, superbe fond flou qui fait bien ressortir l'insecte. Et les couleurs de la libellule sdont magnifiques aussi. Félicitations !

Great in-flight capture. The colours show up beautifully. It looks like a helicopter coming in to land. I like the blurred background as well.

This is a very nice first attempt for a dragonfly in-flight shot!
Usually these pictures are very difficult to take since they can fly so fast...the best times to try would be when they are hoverring.
The sharpness on the head is very good and the details are very nice and clear. Sadly, you lost part of that due to the small f-stop...but i guess it's understandable because you wanted a fast shutter speed.
Beautiful BG and composition, too.

Your attempt is great. You have solved a very difficult task. I am impressed so much. Excellent timing and very impressive result. I have not similar in-flight pictures excluding one or two but I think that at your case I would try to use ISO 800 and smaller aperture value for increasing DOF. Great colours, wonderful BG and nice composition. Bravo and best wishes.

Bonjour Lens, voila de la concurrence sérieuse!! bravo pour ce vol de libellule et ce n'est pas envident à obtenir, au 1/1000 on arrive à "bloquer" le mouvement des ailes qui battent entre 25 à 40 par secondes!! J'organise une expo sur les Insectes en vol du 13 au 21 octobre au moulin de Veigné. Voir Chasseur d'images N° 297. Félicitations, Didier.
