[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Some days ago I visited a wonderful forest, with the floor completely covered with moss and full of mushoooms - red ones, yellow, purple, brown, white, green... All sizes and all shapes... There were also some spiders (I don't like them but they look great on pictures) and a lot of hungry mosquitos who stung me more than 20 times ! :-) But I brought home some nice pictures and I don't regret it.

I think these mushrooms are called 'Puffballs' in English, but I'm not really sure about it, so if I'm wrong don't hesitate to correct me.

I saw lots of them in the forest, growing on old rotting wood, in the middle of moss and lichens. The green color made them stand out very nicely, so I could always see them from very far away. They looked like some strange white egg laying on the mossy floor, very beautiful. Their size was also very impressive, I had never seen such big puffballs before.

To have an idea of their size, you can have a look at the WS.

I hope you will enjoy looking at this picture !

Hola Valeri,
Bonita composición de esta especie de Scleroderma, buena nitidez y detalles, saludos
José Ramón

Hi Valerie,
Nice looking puffballs. I like your pov here. The workshop also well composed. It is really bit puffball. TFS the nature from your forest.
JC

Que suerte tenéis de poder encontrar hongos. En esta zona el año está siendo especialmente riguroso y apenas se ven hongos en los bosques excepto en la alta montaña. Un buen encuadre en tu fotografía con bellos colores.
Saludos Valerie.

Hi Valerie.
I like your lowest POV and impressive vertical cropping with excellently selected DOF. You managed to show us not only nice fungi but and its beautiful surroundings.
I also like excellent lighting, perfect sharpness of the main object and nice green cover. My compliments and best wishes.

Bojour Valerie,
A very good capture!
I like so much the clear view you bring to us of this large mushrooms, as we can appreciate on the WS.
The composition made works great, with an appropriate DOF to nicely blur so softly the background.
Felicitacions et merci du partager.

Bonjour Valerie!

It's almost autumn, more and more fungi around. Cute and very moody [for me] picture. It remainds me all passed autumns, golden light in forest, smell of fruits and fungi. Very nice composition, beautifull shot from microforest.

Hi Valerie,
Not sure about the ID either. You might just want to go for the Latin name. I really like you compsition and low POV in this photo. The fact that you got another fungi nicely blurred in the BG is perfect. Love the DOF and clarity in the photo a lot.
TFS,
Niek

Bonjour Valerie, photo originale et très bien composée avec de jolis contraste et de très belles couleurs,
bravo,
un seul petit regret pour la note en français, mais cela n'empèche rien et réjouis nos amis anglophones
amicalement,
Pat

Hi Valerie,
What a long gap? Busy in work? Well a beautiful capture of these weird lookinf fungi. They look like rotten potatoes. Excellent details and composition. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Wonderful image - great detail on these puffballs and a lush green moss. The composition with the blurred one in a little distance is superb! Kudos! Cheers, Klaus

Hello Valerie,
Puffballs sounds right to me since that's what they are!
Good details have been captured and the composition is simple but effective...
The pattern comes out very well, fine colour palette!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Bonjour Valerie,je ne coassais pas ces champignons, ils sont plutot curieux.Bravo, joli point de vue et belle composition.
Mich

Hi Valerie,
Great close up shot, you had a great POV on these guys! Beautiful textures on the puffballs and love the color saturation. TFS

Hi Valerie,
Very nice and interesting photo, showing not a puffball, but an earthball (Scleroderma sp., most probably S. citrinum). This one's poisonous, causing gastrointestinal distress in humans and animals.
Nice POV, maybe a bit less DOF would be nicer, but I like the photo in this form, too. Tfs, regards, László

Hello Valerie a fine composition with good light and perfect dof, interesting pov tfs rgds Necip.

Hi Valerie,
I haven't shot many fungi, but I did shoot some similar looking "Puffballs" in my garden a few years ago..Nice detail, color, and light. Good use of DOF and the green moss provides a nice contrast in this comp :)

The low POV is excellent.Very good DOF.
Well composed in the frame.

Valeri,
These are HIGHLY poisonous mushrooms. Dangerously TOXIC when inhaled. When they ripen they burst open & the insides fly out. Even animals that inhale this stuff get sick.
You are right; this is the Puffball. But it is HIGHLY poisonous.
GREAT PHOTOGRAPHY WORK.
Warm regards, Mario from Canada.
