Looking at the other versions of cropping, I think the main image is the best choice. But the other versions are not bad at all, either.

Hi Jonathan,

Super macro shot with a great level of detail and fantastic colours. In terms of the composition, I think that this version is good, but perhaps leaving in a little more of the image at the top and left-hand-side, to bring the insect into the image a little more, without losing that wondersul yellow, would have given a more classic composition.

Hello Jo,
This is an unusual and attractive composition where the honey bee follows the curve of the centre of the gaillardia while the petals radiate out into the image, as if the bee itself radiates energy here. The symbolism of this is easy to see.
Nice sharpness both of the bee and the flower.
