Interesting capture - using a fill flash would have lightened the subject up a bit better and left the background faily dark.Can you perhaps give more detail on how this was taken.
Nice capture Nicolas! The lighting looks nice against the dark background. just a pity his head is in the shadow, now we miss some details...
I've searched for you and found that it must be a "Coot", not the Eurasian one, but the similarly sized, dark grey Common Moorhen (Gallinula chloropus). These species are often found together, but the Moorhen has a reddish-orange head shield and bill, with a yellow tip.
