·Tall bamboo reaching a height of 8 meters with culms having a diameter of up to 5 cm.
·Very hardy down to -30°C
·The young culms and culm leaves are powdered. Initially the culms are dark green, later turning more bluish.
·P. viridiglaucescens is a very hardy running species which grows well in the shade and tolerates damp conditions. Its culms gracefully arching culms give it a great ornamental value.
