Hi all!

Maybe Cézanne would like it... at least it has been taken on a rock of his favourite mountain, the Mont Ste. Victoire. I was there over eastern and couldn't resist to take some abstract pictures as I like them. I was impressed by the richness of the colour tones of the limestone, quite different to what I usually find in the Swiss Prealps or Alps.

Kind regards

Markus

Hi Markus,
this does have a feel of 'oils' about it, reminds me of something i did back in art college! Superb texture and subtle mix of colour as only Limestone can do, well done and as always very well seen.

Guten Morgen Markus,
Anne

An apt comparison with Cézanne, Markus.
The abstractions on the rock, in an almost uncanny way, remind one of the work of this great artist.
For a moment when you stop seeing the frame as a picture of the rocks, it looks like a great work of art on canvas.
The credit goes to your selection of the details and your excellent camera work.
Thanks for sharing this superb image.
Regards,
Ram

Hi Markus!

I haven't known Cézanne before (I'm not very expert in painting in general either), but I quickly checked the net to see his style. I haven't found pictures this abstract from him but his paint technique is similar to the pattern of this rock for sure. So his style, you represent very well.
Also apart from that the rock is very interesting in colors and self shadows, very detailed and various. It's not familiar in Hungary either.

And after your wonderful picture let me thank you for your critique on my panorama as well! It was pleasure to read your words...

TFS, and have a nice day my friend!

Best regards,
Andor

Hi Markus.
First of all I am very impressed with your decision and mark me as a favorite author. I am very pleased and it is great honor for me. I will try to correspond to your high estimation.

I like your abstract shot. This is not my subject. May be because there is ground around us only (excluding trees, bushes, flowers, etc. : ). However I watch the shot with interest. You managed to reflect the texture and colour tones of the rocks greatly. Well done and TFS.
Alexei.

Hi Markus,

You done a fabulous job in picking out a nicely balanced abstract, with beautiful lines, colours and textures. It goes to shot that, if you look out for it, there's art everywhere.

Hi Markus

Lovely shoy ot this rock face. The different colours are actually algae and lichen. Limestone is porous, so the shady side of rocks makes a dood habitat for these organisms. Well seen and captured.

James

Bonjour Markus,

Très belle composition artistique. Les couleurs sont bien disposées et harmonieuses. Pour les formes, moi je vois la tête d'un lapin. Plus je regarde la photo et plus je la trouve belle.
Bonne journée,
Mariki

Hello Markus,
An impressive shot of this beautifully coloured limestone rock!
TFS.

Merci Markus,

Francine

Hi Markus,
Very artistic shot with such amazing colour tones and clear details. The cracks and crevices on the rock surface presents a great perspective. Perfect illumination. Excellent POv and composition. Kudos.
TFS.

.
Delicate details in the rocks, Markus!
Fine texture and the colours are well reproduced, and the lines created interesting shapes in the frame...
The image is relaxing to look at, giving a peaceful impression!
