Le ragondin (Myocastor coypus) est un mammifère originaire d'Amérique du Sud, introduit en Europe au XIXe siècle pour l'exploitation de sa fourrure. Tous les individus présents en Europe proviennent d'évasions ou de lâchers volontaires. Myocastor coypus est la seule espèce du genre Myocastor, qui est lui-même le seul genre de la sous-famille des myocastorinés.

The coypu (Myocastor coypus) is an originating mammal of South America, introduced in Europe at the XIXe century for exploitation of its fur. All the individuals present in Europe come d' escapes or from lâchers voluntary. Myocastor coypus is the only species of the Myocastor kind, which itself the only kind of the subfamily of is myocastorinés.
