Genre Quercus

Quercus ilex, also called Oak yeus is a short tree trunk and dense foliage, deep green.

The bark is gray-green and smooth. With age, it becomes black and it becomes detached.

The leaves are evergreen, alternate, and usually smooth. The edges of blades may be smooth (as seen in the photograph), or broadly toothed.

The female flowers are very small and grouped in threes and ^ brought by small stalks.

The fruit is an acorn of one centimeter and a half to two centimeters. They are inserted in wells.

Green oak (or yeuse) is typically a tree scrub and bush.
