The flower

Echinops ritro, Linneae, 1753
It is a beautiful ornamental plant whose inflorescences, ball-shaped compact, are colored blue to intense blue. Besides its inflorescence, characteristic, it also recognizes its deeply dissected leaves and often two-tone (which differentiates it from E. sphaerocephalus, whose leaves are much broader and less cut).

The plant is very appetizing for the bees, to whom it provides an abundant nectar. The plant is considered diuretic and as treating certain skin diseases.

It is a plant rather southern from Mediterranean climate.

The photograph

The photograph was made with the FinePix S602 Zoom, mode aperture priority. Good lighting has allowed to use an equivalent sensitivity of iso-160 and the aperture f / 8. The speed was 1 / 210 th of a second.

Cher Philippe

Markus

Nice picture,interesting plant and good photo.Best regards.Alin.

Bonjour Philippe,
