[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [French]
While walking in the neighbourhoods of Strasbourg, to Alsace, I took photographs of flowers and insects, when I was attracted by this scene.
A bee was trapped by a spider which must be a crab spider (Thomisidae). I had initially identified it wrongly as being an admirable pisaure (Thank you PDP).
In spite of the drama which proceeded, a detail amused me. Indeed, while I took photographs and that I observed the scene, a tiny midge did not cease walking on the head of the prey without worrying about the danger which the spider could represent. It was as if it shared the meal with the predator.

This is my first photograph catch with my new numerical apparatus which I publish on TN. It will be followed news in alternation with other older subjects.

I hope that it will draw your attention and for this reason, I await your critiques with always much pleasure.

Thank you, cordially,
Jean-Patrick

PS: To allow you to see the two photographs in larger, I separately added them in the workshop.

I like the two shots, they are to small to give a good objective critique, but it seems nice to me, good job,

Hi Jean Patrick, great capture of this moment. The spider is definitely not Pisaura, it is a crab spider (family Thomisidae) I can't be more specific with the ID. Thanks for posting two views, there is a little fly there too, I forget the name of those but I thnk they are known scavenge on the spoils of a few predators. Very good work, thanks for posting.

Congratulations on the new camera!

Paul

Looking at the 2 workshop photos I can see other insects in each photo - a fly and also a beetle! Well captured J Patrick. And for a first posting with your new camera they are both very good. You will enjoy practicing I'm sure. Well presented, thank you.

Well spotted, Jean-Patrick. Good action shot. I particularly like the small fly taking a stroll on the bee's head!
