Hi Christophe,

This is a beautiful photo. The details on the butterfly are razorsharp and the colors are very vivid. I like the composition and the POV a lot. I can see two stains in the picture, one underneath in the middle and one in the right top. Are that stains on your lens or maybe dust on your sensor? Anyway, the photo is very, very beautiful. Well worth 2 points. Well done & TFS!

Regards,
Pieter

Hi Christophe,
this is an wonderful picture. Great job and TFS.

Not a species we get in britian we have some very close relatives of Reverdin's Blue (It's english common name)so it is good to see such a wonderful image, only the ends of the antnae slightly out side the DOF, the rest is well detailed, TFS Robert

Wonderful;
Sharpness,details,colors and background
and of course butterfly ;)
TFS!

Hi!

this is not the Plebejus argyrognomon/Reverdin's Blue, this because of the first spot (the basal spot from the wing) this is not present at that species.
That spot (at this size) is characteristical for the Polyommatus icarus/Common Blue, and this is my oppinion. More exactly it is a female.

But the photo is great.

Very good photo!
Perfect details and sharpness!
5* photo!

I agree with Cosmin Manci. It's not a P. argyrognomon (Bergsträsser, 1779), but a P. icarus (Rottemburg, 1775).
Take a lok at, for the P. argyrognomon:
http://www.leps.it/indexjs.htm?SpeciesPages/PlebeArgyr.htm

and for the P. icarus:
http://www.leps.it/indexjs.htm?SpeciesPages/PolyomIcarus.htm

Look at the underside of the wings of both species. They are quite diferent.

Voilà un bel Azuré que vous avez bien capturé ! Compliments pour ce cliché de qualité qui fait plaisir à voir. Merci Christophe de le partager avec nous.

I agree with Cosmin Manci and Paulo-Henrique that it's not a P.argyrognomon(Bergsträsser, 1779), but I think it is Polyommatus bellargus because of the the basal spot on the forewing and the dark sripes in the white edge of the wings that is not present in the P.icarus.
