I had some doubt but why not. When looking again through the serie of the emperor dragonfly I thought it is interesting enough to show you more.
Here you can see very well the construction of the wings while she is laying her eggs.
The litle waves point the focus to the tail.

As I explained before my camera couldn't get closer so don't blame me for the macro quality.

For those who like to see the whole range have a look here:

The face of the emperor
Eggs of the emperor
The back of the emperor
The flight of the emperor
Birth of the Dragonfly.

Have also a look at walking on the water and don't forget my Kermit taking swimming lessons!

Great macro Hendrik. Colorfull with very good sharpness and very good details Very good job. WEll done

Hi Hendrik, there is nothing wrong with the macro capture. The subject is interesting and its sharp. My only nit being some distracting hotspots on the wings and water.

Hello Hendrik,
I think this is a very nice shot. The action of the emperor makes the image more powerful. There are some overexposed ares as I see but not a major nit. I love the underwater environment.
Well done.

What a superb Emperor that you have well captured ! I like the composition. And it is interesting to see her laying under water. Thanks for sharing Hendrik.
