[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Here you have an adult swan followed by a young one, born last May. His flying attitude looks hesitant, while the leader is very fluid.
The couple had two young ones. It's amazing to observe how swans remain together up to the moment young ones are ready to fly on their own and create their own family. In the meantime, the four of them are always close to each other, grazing on the banks or in the fields, digging in the water or flying from one place to another. Next spring, the young swan will lose it's grey feathers and it's beak will start to gain some colors.
More about this very common swan (cygnus olor) here.
If you click on the sound sign, you'll hear the chant that is very noticeable when they fly. Due to their narrow neck, swans can't be noisy, and their chant is more a kind of breathing complaint. It's very characteristic. They use it frequently when flying.

For "Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers", fans, this title surely means something. Also a song by "Pink Floyd".

A beautiful composition, Jean Michel. I like the parallelism of the two flying geese. Interesting note about the family life of these big birds. Well done and TFS. : )
Joyeux Noel à vous et votre famille. : )

Hi Jean Michel

No critique this time. As Christmas Day in New Zealand is nearing an end, I would like to wish you a very safe New Year.

Beautiful capture of this inflight pair, Jean Michel!

Excellent details, POV, lighting and well timed moment.

A great composition, thank you.

Best wishes to you!

great and very sentimental for me! it's amazing how perfect is the adult bird and how are the first steps in life of young dude! very well captured and composed. great story on this simple shot! that is great!

It is a very good in-flight of the swans. The DOF near perfect. Well done.

Lovely in flight. YOu've managed to frame both brids excellently. I know how difficult it is to pull off an inflight containing more than one bird. Well done!
Paul
