[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This wild orchid has been found on the same spot as the Pyramidal Orchis recently posted.
This one is a OPHRYS FUCIFLORA, - Ophrys frelon (hornet) in french. Adrian Warren informed me of the english name -Late Spider Orchid- which is quite rare in UK. Same rarity over here, as this is the first one I've seen in the last three years. Grows only on chalky grounds, between grass tufts. As stated in the precedent note, the spot has been recently cleaned up, leaving much more open space for orchids development. There were only two plants of this one, while the Pyramid can be found in large quantities. It was not visible from the path, so there's a chance to find more of these next year. Protected species.

Very nice jean this is spot on both the image and the note, even better that we get to share a real rarity through you. thank you for sharring it .

Tres belle,Jean Michel.I love seeing wildflowers in their natural habitat, especially orchids as beautiful as this.Your photograph is good and so are your notes.A great find and a great post all around!

Nice shot! You've captured this one well Jean Michel, the lip is nice and sharp, and the DOF is nicely controlled. The only thing I'm not 100% happy about is the background, it's taken on an almost painting like quality which looks a little unnatural. Also I'd rather the frame didn't cut the top of the flower bud. Anyway, it's a nice capture - well identified :-D

Very beautiful rare flower. The colouring is lovely and the picture is sharp and clear. Very well caught.

tres belle orchidée sauvage,
rien a redire si ce n'est merci ;)

Jean, A great capture of this rare orchid in the wild! I might've shot in the vertical with more orchid & less grass but this is just my POV..A great post!!

Jean Michel, a very beautiful plant in a very nice composition. Excellent pov, sharpness and dof. The colors are vivid, and the blurred bg highlights the plant.
