Hello Gerard and welcome to TN. Well composed and some very good detail detail in your closeup. I would adjust your highlights downward here, if you have the software. It would bring out more detail and color.

Jolie photo, Gérard, dommage que les couleurs soient un peu faibles. Désormais il faudra surveiller de plus près les enfants à l’ordinateur.

Je m’étonne qu’avec un D20 et un objectif aussi performant, à F/2.8, l’arrière-plan ne soit pas plus flou. La branche à droite encombre l’image. Aussi, je remarque un peu de bruit, étrange à ISO 100 mais ce n’est pas grave. J’ai fait un WS (le troisième sur cette photo, décidément!) pour les couleurs et le bruit.

Hi Gerard
This is basically a good photo, and with a little bit of PP you could have improved it greatly. The composition & POF is good, so is the DOF. Maybe with a -2 steps adjustment to your exposure it would have brought out more colour to the bird. By the way, do you perhaps know what kind of bird it is? Also, the BG is a little bit busy with the pieces of structure that is visible.
I could not resist to also try my hand at a workshop. Hope you like it.
