It is indeed very common. There is no sunny day in the summer without seeing one. I never seen yet one resting on lilac flowers. The colour combination is stunning.

Belle réussite Christian!

Mis à part le fait que j'aime mieux une photo de papillon partiellement de face que de derrière, il n'en demeure pas moins que ton POV présente d'excellents détails dans son ailes gauche. La mise au point est très bonne et l'exposition parfaite demontrant plein de nuances dans les blancs sans pour autant être sous-ex. L'harmonie du blanc avec le violet de la fleur est un régal pour les yeux de même que le fond tirant sur le mauve et laissant sentir une texture qui ne dérange en rien l'attention que l'on porte au sujet principal.
Du très bon travail et merci pour l'envoi.

Bonjour, Christian!
The blossoms of lilac create a very romantic setting for the Large White, and an exquisite colour contrast, too. Getting very good scale details without any overexposed parts on the white wings is a technical masterpiece.
Well composed, too - mabe just a little bit too much empty space on top. Perfect notes.
A very good occasion to celebrate your 200th posting - at an amazing average of almost 40 points each! Admiration and congratulations!
