Willow flower

There are about 350 species in this genus worldwide, found primarily on moist soils in cooler zones, in the northern hemisphere.
The catkins like those on the photo are produced early in the spring, often before the leaves or as the new leaves open.
Willows are very cross-fertile and numerous hybrids are known, both naturally ocurring and in cultivation.
Some willows, particularly alpine and arctic species, are very small. The Dwarf Willow rarely exceeds 6 cm in height, though spreading widely across the ground.
Almost all willows take root very readily or where broken branches lie on the ground.
The willow tree on my photo grows widly near my home, but I don't know which species it is, if someone can help me...

The photo has been cropped, colors have been enhanced and finally I've added a black frame.

Best regards,
Valerie.

Hi Valerie,
unique flowers and beautifully rendered in horizontaL composition. the blurry branches in the background gives a good graphical effect.
A well thought shot.

Hallo Valerie
Really beautiful and such a delight to look at. I like your three in one presentation showing the different stages in the opening of the flower. At first just the green, then the green with a slight peek of yellow and finally the yellow in all its glory. I accidently came across this rather old image of your yours but liked it so much that I could not let it just pass without leaving my comments.
It has a striking effect to the eye. Thanks for sharing at the time.
Best regards
Anna
