[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [French]
Moro sphinx (Macroglosum stellatarum), lepidopteran of the family of Sphingidae, one of the rare sorts diurnal of the family.
This insect has the particularity to crowl 1 - 2 s (a little as the bird hummingbird) to gather in full flight) with its long trunk the purple and white flowers especially. This trunk is then rolled up to pass in the following flower. Between two flowers, her flight is of an impressive speed (until 75 beatings per second).
It is very difficult to photograph this insect. I used a zoom 55-200 (focal maximum), chose a fast speed and used the mode "burst" of my 350D.
Among all the photos, I kept this one, about fit to be seen. The butterfly gathers a flower of buddleias placed in front of the wire netting of a property, what explains the aspect a little bit curious about the background.
I have recentring a little, modified the luminosity and the contrast and stressed a little.
Excuse my english, I use an automatic translator....

Very nice shot, Jean Jacques!
Indeed, these guys are really difficult to capture, but it seems that some of the TN-ers can do it very well :) We should all learn from them.
Beautiful shot, even if it is through a fence, with lovely colors, nice POV and DOF and doog detail.

Bravo and TFS
Horia

PS: Don't worry...the english is fine:)

TFS.

Jean, mi piace molto questa foto!
Bella composizione e ottimi colori,bravo!

Ciao.

punti non ne ho.....più tardi messi!

Bonjour Jean-Jacques !

Very nice shot with this sphinx, good DOF from this difficult photograph,

Bravo,
Lucian

bonjour J Jacques

Bonjour Jean Jacques,

wow, great inflight capture, jean! :-)
excellent composition of the Moro sphinx refueling with his
sucker attached to the pretty flower,
nice strong colors and a great green blurred bg,
with just a little bit noise visible.
well done & take care, thorsten.

Hello JJ
amazing capture,
they are not never successful to capture this bug.

Hello Jean,
Very nice, great job with this difficult in-flight..
Lovely color and light, with good details.
You've nearly stopped the wings @ 1/1000th,
Very well done.

Great shot!
Wonderful POVE, details, colours and compo!

J'espere l'etait ici. C'est bob.

My French is poor . Sorry. I wish they were here. You have frozen the action nicely. On my screen it looks a bit dark but that's probably my screen so no worries.
