[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
These last week it has been raining all day long, and temperatures ere not very warm - evenings we even had to make fire in the house to keep warm, in August ! Can you imagine ?

But the best part of it is that now there are lots of wonderful things in the nature : foggy morning landscapes, dew-covred spiderwebs, and lots of mushrooms in all shapes and sizes. I still don't have my Canon 350D, so I went into the forest yesterday with my little pocket camera - better than nothing !

But the problem is that in the forest the little Sony is overexposing everything, so I could only take photos of mushrooms who where growing in the shadow, like this big one.

I really know nothing about fungi, but I think this one is a Boletus satanas - if I'm wrong I hope someone will tell me. This fungi grows mostly under oak trees, and it is very poisonous when eaten raw. I have read that he is edible when cooked, but it is really not advisable to try it.

The photo is not of the best quality, but I love the 'position' of the mushroom here, growing on a slope. I hope you will like it too !

Hello Valerie,
I like the composition and pov here. Mushroom itself is interesting with its bulky body with red and yellow colors. TFS.

Hi Valerie

This is a very nice post of this cute "fat" mushroom :))
Excellent low POV, great details, very good light and lovely colros. Also nice are the framing and the lighter BG, that brings the subject in even more attention.
Very well done!

Bravo and TFS

Hi Valerie.
Your decision concerning the point of view excellently. I think, it was not easy to realize this plan. But the result impresses: the big mushroom on a background of the big wood.

Great details and rich colours, excellent DOF and contrast. The top of the picture is OE a bit, I think. Nevertheless, I like it very much. My compliments and TFS.
Alexei.

Hello Valerie,
I don't know the first thing about mushrooms but this one for sure looks good..!
So natural with the wet leaves as glued on, interesting shape and natural colours...
Well framed in a dynamic composition!

Hello Valerie,
This is a good shot with your little camera (you really notice the difference after using a good SLR don't you?)
The details are nice, clear and sharp.

Bonjour Valerie!

I'm not fungi expert [ask Felipe or my wife ;-)] but it looks like master of poison, the evil Boletus :-) 'Pose' and POV are exceptional. I like purple/yellow colours also. Believe me - fungi are very hard to capture and you did great job here, my friend!

Un hongo con un aspecto gracioso... al menos eso es lo que me trasmite la imagen Valerie.
Bellos y suaves colores, con buen POV y DOF.
El fondo no colabora con la total nitidez de la escena, pero no desmerece la calidad de la presentación.
Saludos cordiales... Ricardo

A mushroom with an amusing aspect... at least that is it that transmit the image Valerie.
Beautiful and soft colors, with good POV and DOF.
The background doesn't collaborate with the total clarity of the scene, but non be unworthy of the quality of the presentation.
Cordial greetings... Ricardo

Bravo.

Hi Valerie,
This is excellent, a superb POV, very creative and artistic I think. I like the way you've filled the frame with the mushroom. I don't know why you think this is 'not of the best quality'. The only negative point I can see is the OE sky but that is minimal. I think it's a really good photo!
Regards,
Adrian

Hi Valerie,
perfect picture document of that toadstool.
Clear and sharp, and beautiful perfectly exposed colours.
The background delivers a good idea of the setting, and there is a very pleasant bright light in that scenery as presented here. Thank you!
Bet regards,
Peter

Czeœæ Valerie. Rewelcyjny grzybek u nas w Polsce wielka rzadkoœæ. Dobrze zrobione zdjêcie, kompozycja i œwiat³o OK. Pozdrawiam Robert.

Hello Valerie,
Noticed this one in your intro page. A very good close up. Good forest light. I like the low POV.
Very good..
