HYACINTHOIDES NON-SCRIPTA - Jacinthe des bois - Bluebell.
The bluebell is a bulbous plant occuring typically in deciduous woodland, especially coppice, where it may dominate the ground flora. It can be common in other shady places such as hedgerow banks and under bracken as well as more open habitats, such as costal grassland. Humidity and continuity of habitat are key requirements for this species.
The plant is common throughout Britain, occurring widely. 30% of the global Bluebell population is in UK. Bluebells are also found scattered throughout western Europe, mainly in France, the Netherlands and Belgium and they have become naturalised in central Europe. This species of bluebell (Hyacinthoides non-scripta) should not be confused with the non-native Spanish Bluebell (Hyacinthiodes hispanica). The latter is frequently planted in gardens but the two species hybridise with each other freely.

Camera placed at ground level on a piece of wood. Aperture priority and choice of a narrow DOF, to soften fore an background. The sun is finding it's way thru the fog behind the trees. This shot would have been too soft 15 minutes before, and probably not as moody 15 minutes after. (time of the day 9,10h)

Superbe composition. Excellente profondeur de champ.

Great shot Jean. The DOF and the low perspective is what really makes this work for me. Well done.

Very good pov for this shot, great contrast between the flours and the forest.
TFS.

Very well done shot. The contrasts here are very lovely, the contrast in colors and textures. The purple really stands out on the misty forest background, with the sharp green to highlight it.
A Pleasing Photo! Excellent.

Very well done and thanks for posting

A unique composition that is very striking in it's contrasting layers. Nice fore-, middle and background. Depth perpective is fantastic. I would love to see this as a large post panoramic shot. Well done.

Hi Jeam Michel
Improvising I see, and the results speak for themselves, well done, great POV and a hint of a of misty BG too to round this off!

Very beautiful POV you got here, Jean Michelle. The contour of the flower horizon against the blured and moody background is great. The short DOF mixing flowers in/out focus is a nice game. Maybe you could do a nice Large Format with this one.
Beautiful.
