[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Another shot from a tree frog, but something is different from the one I posted two days ago. Does anyone know what that could be....?

Allright, I will tell you. This is not Hyla arborea like my previous treefrog post, but Hyla meridionalis. It resembles the common tree frog, but is larger (some females up to 65 mm), has longer hindlegs, and the flank stripe only reaches to the front legs (often starting at the eyes, not at the nostrils). The croaking is different from that of the common tree frog; it is deeper and slower: 'wroar... wroar... wroar'.
Also the shape of the balloon shaped 'air bag' (how does one call this in proper english) is different: the one from H. meridionalis is larger and expands more sideways (compare the two images).
Hope you know a little bit more about european tree frogs.

One more cool frog :)
I hope this guy know how far hi can blow his balloon or whatever it calls in English :)
Nice details on balloon :), but little bit more Photoshop work can make his eye more visible.

Great moment you have caught, Jacob.
A very impressive "balloon" your tree frog is making.
Excellent details and light on it.
I like the way it looks as though there is a light coming from the inside of the air sack.

Finally I found a few minutes to write more than "I will comment it later" ;)
I am really happy that you presented this species. I saw it when I was in France (Cote de Azur - in Tamaris near Tulon) but I did not know that it is another species. Just after I came back home I found some details that there is another species... :)
And here I can see it clearly and moreovr in very interesting pose!

Wonderful capture of a male Hyla meridionalis with its great vocal sac friend. Excellent! The veins are seen on the skin of vocal sac! TFS.
