[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note

It is not called a Hummingbird Hawk Moth (Macroglossum stellatrum)for nothing. It does a very good imitation of a Hummingbird by hovering to feed .
The Centuria it is feeding on is sharp so it is only speed blurr on the moth it's self, so maybe next time try a higher shutter speed, it might mean loosing some DOF but it might be worth it to get the image of the moth a little sharper.

Sorry out of points

It could be very nice shot.
POV and composition are good. It's a pity that it is out of focus and a bit noisy. I undertand of course, that it is quite hard to capture this little fellow. I know this cute insect very well cause he is frequent summer guest in my garden. It is so similar to Hummingbird that I'm sure many people mistook it with this exotic bird.
Anyway, I like your photo. It call summer to my mind.
Thanks for posting :-)

Good action shot. very well done. I like it

This is one of most beautiful moths. Like Monika said it is frequently identified as a Hummingbird. I know how hard it is to shot - I tried capture those moths but without great succes.

Hi Ferruccio, I translated your notes. It is like a hummingbird, and I see that Robert has explained that it is a hummingbird moth. Good action shot - it wouldn't be easy to take. Well done.

Nice and interesting shot unfortunatly your subject is out focus.
TFS.
