[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi
Today reminiscences from holidays. :)
In the picture you can see cicada (Cicada orni) the representative of insects order Homoptera.
Cicadas are know from making sound. But only cicadas males do it. They have special tymbals organs that are situated at the 1st segment of abdomen (however, they don't make a sonud in the same way as crickets). Additionally they stop to make sounds when the temperature goes down below 23oC.

In the picture I've changed levels: 10/1,00/255 and I've used unsharp mask: sharpen 25%, radius 2,2 to make the photo better.
Best wishes
Ania

Hello Ania,
This is an excellent Cicada shot. The light, colours, sharpness and composition all make up one of the best Cicada pictures I've seen.

Hello Ania,
an excellent picture with nice details. In spite of the bright background light lateral structures and colours of the cicada are well visible and presented in good sharpness. Thank you for posting this impressive close-up.
Best wishes, Peter

Excellent macro Ania with great sharpness and impressive details of the insect.
The captured point of view, it allows to appreciate the entirety of the cicada, including their wonderful wings.
The so luminous bottom is not the ideal, but it doesn't interfere with the main protagonist's vision.
A great presentation... thank you for sharing.

Superb shot of this feeding cicada. Tons of details visible here, in a very nice, even light. Did you turn it 90 degrees to make it horizontal ?

Dear Ania,
Great shot with excellent details of cicada.
