Red-and-yellow barbets have strong red bills that are long, thick and pointed. They are 23 cm long and strongly patterned with blotches and spots of red, yellow, black and white. They have large red to red-orange heads.

Red-and-yellow barbets are found in low woodlands. Their range is from central Ethiopia south through Kenya, in north and central Tanzania and southwest Somalia.

Although the bird displays very interesting colors, I feel the colors have not come up very well because the light is falling on its back. Only if you could have changed the perspective. Bird photos come upvery well light falling on them with a refelction in their pupil.

Here I can see the difference between an old not digital photo (and scanned) from this bird (I've taken from this bird) and a digital-one.
This-one is beautiful, sharp in a nice composition. Good POV. A bit dull.
