Top:Map Butterfly
This butterfly owes its English name to the map-like figures on the undersides of the wings.
The Map (Araschnia levana) is a butterfly of the Nymphalidae family. It is common throughout the lowlands of central and eastern Europe, and is expanding its range in western Europe.
Bottom:Small Tortoiseshell
The Small Tortoiseshell is the species to be seen in spring, emerging from hibernation on warm, sunny days.
The wings of the Small Tortoiseshell butterfly are mainly orange and brown on the top. There are patches of colour along the front edge of the forewing which are dark brown, pale yellow and white. There are also blue marks along the border of the other edges.
Underneath, the Small Tortoiseshell butterfly is mainly dark brown but with a band of light brown.

Fantastic shot Biswarup, very nice capture with a superb composition
Superb detail, and excellent bright colours. Very sharp and clear.
Thanks for posting
Hi Biswarup,
Wow, two pretty butterflies!
You captured both of them very nicely. Great DoF to include both butterflies within the sharp region.
Superb shot.

Hello Biswarup,
Apart from the composition and colour, the best thing about this shot is the DOF, sharply capturing bothe The Map Butterfly and the Small Tortoiseshell.
Well done!
TFS, regards, Ivan

Bonjour,
Bel ensemble bien coloré.
Bonne journée.

Hello Biswarup,
this image is quite remarkable for the many details within depth of field. A lot to be seen here in great density, and both butterflies sharp.
Apparently from postwork sharpening the background became somewhat noisy - quite easy to treat.
Beautiful memory of summer. Thank you!
Best regards,
Peter
