The Hooded Crow is a Eurasian bird species in the crow genus. Widely distributed, it is also known locally as Scotch Crow, Danish Crow, and Grey Crow in Ireland, which is what its Welsh name, translates as. Found across northern, eastern and southeastern Europe, and the Middle East, it is an ashy grey bird with black head, throat, wings, tail and thigh feathers, as well as a black bill, eyes and feet. Like other corvids it is an omnivorous and opportunistic forager and feeder.
PL – wrona siwa. To średniej wielkości ptak z rodziny krukowatych (dł. ciała ok. 45-50 cm rozpiętość skrzydeł ok. 90-100 cm, waga ok. 600-700g). Ptak zasadniczo wędrowny, choć duża część osobników prowadzi osiadły tryb życia, zwłaszcza populacje miejskie. Występuje w Europie od Półwyspu Apenińskiego i Łaby aż po Ural. |
