[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
In the last weeks I saw so many ladybirds not only in nature but also in TrekNature. So, I would like to add one different.
This is ANATIS OCELLATA and not the common ladybird (Coccinella septempunctata).
A. ocellata is not so common as septempunctata but also not rare. It is preferentially found in coniferous forests. The species occurs in Europe as well as in North America and is the largest species of the family Coccinellidae in Europe, with a body length between 8 and 9 mm. The black spots are surrounded by brightly coloured rings, giving the impression of an eye (ocellus). By this character it is easily distiguishable from other species.

This surely is a ladybird with a different colour, Peter. I too shot the regular red one today.
Excellent macro with great POV, DOF and colours.

Hello Peter,
very nice composition and colours are great! This one ladybug is really fantastic! Unbelievable colouring!
I see that you used the flash, when I use the flash for close subjects, I set white paper in front of it.
It is better, no reflection.
So that is my opinion.

Hell Peter, leider habe ich dieses Jahr noch keinen Augenmarienkäfer gesehen. (War auch zu warm..tz.tz.tz.) Auch mit anderen Insekten sieht es momentan, bei hiesigen Außentemperaturen unter 10 Grad, ziemlich schlecht aus. Da kommt uns Dein Käfer gerade recht. Sehr schönes detailiertes Foto. Du hättest evtl. den Käfer etwas nach links postieren können/sollen. Ich wünsche Dir ein schönes Wochenende.

Hallo Peter,
interessanter - und von mir und wohl auch von vielen anderen - noch nicht bewusst registrierter abweichender Verwandter unseres viel strapazierten Glückskäferchens C. septempunctata. Willkommener Auftakt, um seinen zahlreichen ähnlichen Verwandten, in gelb oder rot, unterschiedlicher Punktanzahl und Größe, ein wenig mehr Augenmerk zu widmen.
